DIY Recipe for Jasmine Oil
You need to use high quality, “therapeutic” grade oil to get the most production from jasmine oil. Synthetic jasmine oil is often sold at much lower prices than true jasmine essential oil because it is costly to produce real jasmine oil.
If you went to a mall for shopping and see a jasmine oil diffuser for sale in a store or line, beware that it likely may be a synthetic aroma.
Jasmine flowers are very small and contain just tiny amounts of oil so it costs thousands of dollars to make only one pound of pure jasmine essential oil. Hence, it is important to always check the ingredients in the oil carefully; make sure that the name of the genus species is specified as Jasminum officinale.
Although jasmine oil might be one of the most costly essential oils outside, it has a ton of uses and won’t go to waste. Few drops also make a big impact, so a small bottle will last a very long time.
You can also find absolute jasmine oil, which includes another oil like jojoba and draws down the price per bottle substantially. The downside to absolutes, however, is that solvents such as hexane are used to manufacture them.

- 30 drops jasmine oil
- 5 drops vanilla essential oil

- 2 tablespoons vodka
- 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
- Mix the Essential Oil and blend with the vodka in a glass mason jar or you can take a bottle, and leave it to sit on a countertop for two days. Keep it covered fully and put at room temperature and away from the sun.
- Add the orange blossom water or distilled water, and stir together. Add the mixture to an old perfume spray bottle or regular aluminium spray bottle. Keep the mix at room temperature, and use on your skin, sheets, rugs, etc.
Jasmine Oil Side Effects:
Jasmine is generally considered safe and non-irritating, but when you use essential oils there is always a chance of allergies or irritations that occur.
Especially if you are new to the use of Essential Oils or if you have sensitive skin, make sure you start with a small amount and try to dilute it with the oils.
Jasmine has an intense smell that’s very flowery, so some people prefer to combine it with other oils to prevent it from becoming overpowering.
Jasmine essential oil may be causing headaches, skin reactions or nausea due to its impact in a small group of people. Also toning it with coconut, almond or jojoba oil and avoiding direct contact with the skin.
Can it ingest jasmine essential oil? I usually recommend only jasmine oil for aromatherapy and topical use. While it has been used in pregnant women and new moms for decades, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or having hormone-related problems, talk with your doctor before using essential oils.

- Combine the hair from top to bottom and keep it as it is. This technique can be used when you wash your hair, but be careful as much can make your hair too greasy.
- Place a plastic cap on the head and leave the mixture in for several hours or overnight.
