Soothe Burns: Camphor and menthol can be used to cool and soothe minor burns.

Mosquito bites: Menthol may be used to treat and repel bug bites (but using a physical repellent, like bed nets, alongside menthol is best).

Neuropathy: Capsicum may alleviate neuropathic symptoms.

Osteoarthritis pain: Capsicum and menthol are also used to aid osteoarthritis pain.

Poor blood circulation: The key ingredient camphor may improve blood circulation.

Benefits of Pain-Relieving Cream

  1. Aches and strains

Camphor and other additives in the balm increase blood flow to the skin’s surface, creating a warming sensation that can distract from pain and fatigue.

  1. Reduces Inflammation

Camphor and menthol may also improve blood circulation to the muscles, potentially boosting healing and lessening inflammation.

  1. Tension headaches

This balm is more effective than a placebo in relieving headaches. It was nearly as effective as acetaminophen (Tylenol).

  1. Back pain

People frequently use balm to relieve back pain, particularly pain in the lower back. Some people use specific ingredients in balm before or after alternative back pain treatments, such as Gua Sha therapy.

  1. Neck and shoulder tension

Neck and shoulder pain may be relieved using a pain-relieving cream or balm. Men and women with mild to moderate muscle strain used patches containing a 10 per cent methyl salicylate and 3 per cent menthol formulation. The patches were applied to numerous areas of the persons’ bodies, including the upper shoulder and neck.

  1. Joint pain

Osteoarthritis causes bones to become brittle and lose density over time, resulting in joint pain. People suffering from osteoarthritic knee joint pain discovered that 352 participants used rubs to alleviate their symptoms, such as Chiltan Pure Pain-Relieving Cream. The active ingredients in balm appear to sooth the area and reduce swelling, which seems to help relieve joint pain.

  1. Muscle pain

Camphor and menthol can increase blood circulation to the muscles and surrounding area, and this may aid in the reduction of inflammation and the alleviation of pain. Methyl salicylate can be used to treat pain.

  1. Arthritis pain

Although many rub balm on areas affected by arthritis, the exact mechanism of how it works for the condition is unknown. But it may be due to the anti-inflammatory effects of menthol, capsicum, and cassia oil. It may also be because the balm is a counterirritant, temporarily distracting you from arthritis pain.
