  1. Flaxseed Powder + Water Face Mask

Grind about a tablespoon of flaxseed powder and combine it with about 3 tbsp of purified, distilled water. Leave this mixture for about 15-20 minutes and notice the mixture beginning to thicken. Use your fingers to put this mixture on your face and neck and let it dry. Once dry, use a soft washcloth dipped in warm water to gently remove the mask.

This mask exfoliates, tones and brightens up the skin – and at the same time, it’ll leave you feeling moisturized.

  1. Multani Mitti + Flaxseed Powder + Honey Face Mask

To get you some bolder results, combine the ground flaxseed powder + water combination with a tablespoon of Multani mitti or Fuller’s Earth and a tablespoon of honey. Leave on the face till dry and wash it off.

Fuller’s Earth is clay that draws out the impurities in the skin and leaves skin feeling fresh and exfoliated. Both fullers earth and flaxseed have anti-aging properties as well. Added to this, honey is a humectant. This means your face will feel supple and moisturized (this is added to balance the fuller’s earth, which tends to dry out the skin).

Honey and flax also lighten acne scars.

  1. Flaxseed Powder, lemon, honey mask

This mask is a boon for acne-prone skin or those of us with scarring or marks on our skin. Both lemon and honey are lightening agents and microbicidal (which means they act against acne-causing microbes). Lemon water is drying, while honey is moisturizing (so these two go great in balancing each other out).

For this mask, add only 2 tbsp water to 1 tbsp ground flaxseed powder. Then add a teaspoon of lemon water and 1 tbsp of honey. Wait till the mixture acquires a gel-like consistency before applying on the face as before.

For those of us who have oily skin, you can change up the lemon water-honey ratio by adding a bit more lemon water and a bit less honey. For dry-skinned people, vice-versa.

  1. Flaxseed Powder + Rose Water + Cinnamon Powder + Yoghurt Mask

This mask is a perfect anti-aging mask that takes care of dull, flat skin prone to wrinkles, acne/acne scars, and dark spots.

Cinnamon plumps up the skin and dries out pimples. It helps bring oxygen and blood to the surface, leaving your skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated.

Keep in mind, though, cinnamon on the face stings for a lot of people – so it’s a good idea to only leave this mask on your face till it’s tolerable for you, even if it’s only for a few minutes.

Rosewater is a natural toner, soothes skin, and an ingredient in natural anti-aging serums.

Yogurt balances out the effect of the cinnamon and prevents the skin from getting inflamed or drying out.

To 1 tbsp of ground flaxseed powder, add 1 tbsp water, 1 tbsp rose water, and 1 tbsp yogurt. Let it be till it acquires a gel-like consistency. When you’re ready to put it on your face, add just a teaspoon of cinnamon into the mix.

Let sit on the face till it dries out OR till the cinnamon begins to tingle (whichever happens sooner!).

Wash off and pat dry to reveal glowing, smooth, and rejuvenated skin.

  1. Flaxseed Powder + Turmeric Powder + Yoghurt Mask

It’s a beautiful mask if you’re prone to dry skin, acne, and dullness. Turmeric with yogurt imparts a golden, youthful, and healthy glow to the surface, and while yogurt is moisturizing, turmeric is an anti-microbial and fades scars and spots too.

To 1 tbsp ground flaxseed powder, add 2 tbsp water, 1 tsp turmeric, and 1 tbsp yogurt. Apply on face after the mixture has taken on a gel-like consistency. Don’t leave it on for more than about 5 minutes (otherwise, you might start looking like a Simpson).
